2022 3CS National Cybersecurity Student Association Chapter Meeting Faculty & Student Travel Support Application


To be considered for the Travel Stipend, this from must be completed (click the Register button in left-hand side of this page). Recipients will be notified of Travel Stipend awards a week from submission. 


The purpose of this message is to ask you to consider attending the student chapters meeting at the 2022 3CS conference on May 23rd from 3-5pm. Aside from the AWESOME workshops and sessions that are listed on the 3CS Conference website, we will be discussing the following meeting agenda topics below:

  • Overview of the Student Association & New Team Members
  • Federal Work Study program with the Student Association & National CyberWatch Center.
    • New competency-based mastery learning curriculum (SU & FA)
    • New experiential learning opportunities for active student members
  • Marketing opportunities for chapters & academic institutional programs.
  • Project Updates
    • Cyber READY Project Proposal Update
    • New Cyber Readiness Conference (October)
    • CSJ Scholarly opportunities for students “discussions & notes.”
  • Chapters highlight and activities.
  • Student Chapter of the year awardee.
  • Open discussion and brainstorming.

Additionally, we wanted to make you aware that there is still travel funding to be reimbursed for attending the 2022 3CS Conference. Registration closes April 28th, 2022 at 11:59pm EST. 

What does that mean? Faculty and students chapter members can apply for travel funding and be reimbursed IF you attend the Student Chapters meeting. However, the deadline for applying for this funding is quickly approaching. Click on the button below and complete the form to be considered for travel stipends.

Travel Funding Requirements

Faculty

  • Faculty must have a current, up-to-date and approved NCC Academic Membership.
  • Your academic institution must have a National Cybersecurity Student Association Chapter OR have a chapter created by May 18, 2022.
  • Only one (1) faculty student chapter advisor can qualify for the travel stipend. 
  • Must attend the chapters meeting on May 23rd from 3-5p. 
  • All these requirements must be met in order to be reimbursed for the $600 travel stipend after the conference.  
  • Apply for travel stipends. 
  • Share the "APPLY FOR TRAVEL STIPENDS" link below with 2 students who wish to attend and apply for the stipend. 

Students

  • Must be an enrolled student 18 yrs. or older. 
  • Must have a 1-yr membership for the National Cybersecurity Student Association.
  • Must be a student member of your academic institution's National Cybersecurity Student Association Chapter. 
  • Must attend the chapters meeting on May 23rd from 3-5p. 
  • Only (2) students can apply and receive a travel stipend per chapter. 
  • Apply for travel stipends. 
  • All these requirements must be met in order to receive travel reimbursement after the conference. See below for travel stipends. 

Student Financial Support Reimbursement Categories

Local Student:

If you live within a 50 mile radius from the college you are entitled to a $75 stipend to cover the registration ($25) and incidentals. 

Regional Student:

If you live within a 100 mile radius from the college you are entitled to a $250 stipend for travel, registration ($25) and incidentals. We will pay upfront and book a 1- night stay from May 23rd - 24th, 2022.  

National Student:

If you live over 100 miles from the college you are entitled to a $500 stipend for travel, registration ($25) and incidentals. We will pay upfront and book a 2-night stay from May 23rd -25th, 2022. 

ALL Students: The Travel Stipend will be in a form of REIMBURSEMENT after the event. You are expected to:

  • Register for 3CS by April 28, 2022 by 11:59 pm EST. This is how we know to book your hotel room. 
  • Book your flight and travel arrangements. 
  • Attend the Student Chapters meeting on May 23rd, 2022. 
  • Regional & National students must attend the Career Expo on May 24th, 2022. 
  • Attend at least 3 sessions during 3CS. 
  • Write a short (500 words or less) description of your experience at 3CS.
