Special Webinar:

Developing Dialogues
on the Adoption, Adaptation, or Extension
of the NICE Framework

Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (Eastern)

The Cybersecurity Skills Journal (CSJ) publishes a Special Issues Series on the NICE Framework to disseminate effective practices for raising awareness, facilitating application, and broadening the impact of the NICE Framework. One of the CSJ paper types is the Dialogue, an edited transcript of a Focus Group discussion exploring challenges and effective solutions related to raising the capabilities of the cybersecurity workforce.

CSJ is currently seeking proposals for Focus Group sessions as part of the NICE Special Issue. A Focus Group is not a panel discussion or one-way presentation: participants join in a real-time discussion facilitated using methods designed to elicit deep insights, replicable practices, and measures of impact for adopting, adapting, or extending the NICE Framework. Proposals are due by June 1, 2023.

This webinar is intended to help participants learn how they can design and submit their idea for a Focus Group Session for the NICE Virtual Focus Group event to be held on July 17, 2023. The webinar will address the following questions:

  • What are worthy ideas to investigate to inform future Framework adoption, adaptation, or extension?
  • How to convert your investigative questions into a Focus Group inquiry?
  • How to elicit the most insightful ideas, replicable practices, or measures of impact?
  • How to prepare a publishable transcript to inform the nation and broaden the impact of isolated concepts for and experiences with Framework adoption, adaption, and extension?

Participants are highly recommended to review the CSJ Overview Presentation before attending the webinar to better understand the Journal's mission, types of manuscripts, and initial submission requirements.
