Coach Barbara Belon Dr. Belón received her doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University in 1984, specializing in teaching methodologies and curriculum development. While there, she developed an interest in computers and programming and redirected her career to the software industry. In addition to working in software development companies, Dr. Belón returned to academia in 1999, serving as the Director of the Center for Information Technology at Norwalk Community College, Norwalk, CT. In 2017, she once again added on another career area, as she studied to become a certified coach, and now holds an Associate Coach Credential (ACC) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Dr. Belón not only coaches individuals and teams but she is also the author of the “Fundamentals of Coaching” course and accompanying videos that are being used to give college faculty mentors additional coaching skills. Coach Janny Franken Janny Franken was born and raised in The Netherlands. After receiving her Masters’ degree in Educational Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy, she worked in settings where she could use her observational and critical analysis strengths, advising parents and professionals on how to improve their ability to work with and raise children and youth with special needs. Janny moved to the USA in 2005 and served as a leader of an improvement process overarching 3 Dutch Language & Culture schools in Southern California. In 2012, she started working at a church to grow and improve their Children & Youth Ministries. Later she also took up the role as Congregational Life Director to guide the congregation through the transition of becoming a Reconciling in Christ congregation (welcoming LGBTQ+), and was co-president of the board. In sum, Janny has worked in many different leadership roles where she enjoyed thinking outside the box, tapping into her critical thinking skills, and motivating others to move forward. In 2020 she started coach training to obtain an ACC accreditation, and completed PCC training in December of 2022.
