FAQ's
How does the ScholarMatch program work?
- After you apply, ScholarMatch will examine your application to determine your eligibility for the available scholarships.
- When you are matched to an eligible program, you will receive an email containing the ScholarMatch agreement. Please thoroughly read the ScholarMatch agreement to understand the terms and conditions of this program. Once you sign the agreement, it will be returned to us for processing of your scholarship match.
- After your agreement is processed, you will receive an email with a copy of the countersigned agreement along with instructions to apply for the scholarship. Please note that a signed ScholarMatch agreement is not a guarantee of scholarship award. However, applying for matched scholarships increases the likelihood that you will receive the scholarship.
- Once you are accepted into a scholarship program, you will receive payment from the scholarship provider. In accordance with the ScholarMatch agreement, these scholarship funds must be deposited with the Cyber Ready Professionals program.
Are there any out of pocket costs?
- If you are granted a scholarship in this program, it will cover all expenses for the process steps listed above.
- You may incur other costs, such as purchasing suitable computing devices, to fully benefit from the program steps.
What if I do not receive a scholarship.
- If you do not receive a scholarship, you are welcomed to enter into the Cyber Ready Professionals program.
- Before your first meeting with the career advisor, you will be provided the costs for various credentialing options. ScholarMatch will continue to search for scholarships to help you defray or eliminate these costs.
Do I have to be a student?
- Yes. You must be a current student with an email address that ends in .edu.
- To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have submitted an academic transcript for the current semester showing that you have enrolled in a computing, information systems, or cybersecurity course or degree program.
Can international student apply?
- Not at this time. We will be developing scholarship for international students in the future.
What if I do not receive a scholarship.
- We will attempt to match you with a different scholarship during the current semester or for next semester.
Can I pay out of pocket for the IT Fundamentals Scholarship Program?
- Yes. Please review the options below to see which applies to you.
- Students who are members of a National Cybersecurity Student Association Chapter pay $500.
- Students who are not a chapter member but are Premium Members of NCSA, pay $1,000.
- All others who have a current *.edu email address, pay $2,000.
- Anyone who is not currently enrolled in an academic institution may enroll in the Cyber Ready IT Audit Fundamentals Program for $4,415.
The award for the IT Audit Fundamentals Scholarship Program listed in the Financial Aid Services Agreement is $500, which differs from the amount posted on the Cyber Ready Professional website. Could you please explain this difference?
- The award amount is what is received from the Grantor organization for this scholarship. This is the amount that will be deposited with Cyber Ready Professionals to enroll you in the program without additional cost to access the $4.415 worth of products and services.
